- The country’s renowned wildlife biologist A.J.T. John Singh died in Bengaluru.
- Johnson’s career began as a zoology lecturer, making significant contributions to Project Elephant and organizing international conferences.
- Associated with various conservation foundations, he worked in the National Wildlife Board and Tiger Conservation Authority and trained more than 300 wildlife managers.

RBI raises GDP growth forecast for FY 2025 to 7.2%
- RBI has raised the GDP growth estimate for the current financial year to 7.2% from 7% due to increase in private consumption and improvement in demand in rural areas.
- The National Statistical Office has projected India’s real GDP growth rate to be 8.2% in 2023-24.
- Real GDP growth rate for 2024-25 is estimated at 7.2%.

- 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Nirabh Kumar Prasad took over as the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh.
- Earlier he served as Special Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh in charge of Environment, Forest, Science and Technology departments.
- Telugu Desam Party President N. Chandrababu Naidu will take charge as the next Chief Minister on June 12.
