India takes over the Chairmanship of the Colombo Process for 2024-2026
- India has assumed the chairmanship of the Colombo Process for 2024-2026, the first time it has held the role since the inception of the process in 2003.

Income Tax Department notified cost inflation index for the current financial year
- The newly notified Cost Inflation Index (CII) for FY 2024-25 is 363, up from CII 348 last fiscal year, corresponding to an annual inflation rate of 4.3%.
- CII is an important tool used to calculate long-term capital gains from sale of real estate, securities and jewellery.
- It helps in adjusting the purchase price of assets for inflation.
