NTPC to set up green hydrogen infrastructure in Odisha
- NTPC signed a MoU with Gridco, the Energy and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) undertaking of Government of Odisha, to promote green energy technologies in Odisha.
- Plans include a green hydrogen fuelling station in Bhubaneswar and hydrogen buses for short and long distances.
- The initiative aims to replace fossil fuel-powered buses, enhancing decarbonisation and energy security.

- NTPC ने ओडिशा में हरित ऊर्जा प्रौद्योगिकियों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ओडिशा सरकार के ऊर्जा और राजधानी क्षेत्र शहरी परिवहन (CRUT) उपक्रम ग्रिडको के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
- योजनाओं में भुवनेश्वर में एक हरित हाइड्रोजन ईंधन स्टेशन और छोटी तथा लंबी दूरी के लिए हाइड्रोजन बसें शामिल हैं।
- इस पहल का उद्देश्य जीवाश्म ईंधन से चलने वाली बसों को प्रतिस्थापित करना, डीकार्बोनाइजेशन और ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को बढ़ाना है।
TIL to invest Rs 20,000 crore in development of Vadhavan port
- Switzerland-based Terminal Investments Ltd (TIL) plans to invest Rs 20,000 crore in developing the Vadhavan Port, located near Dahanu city in Maharashtra, and its ecosystem.
- Vadhavan Port Project Limited (VPPL), a joint venture of JNPA (74% stake) and Maharashtra Maritime Board (26%), is overseeing the Rs 76,200 crore project.
- This initiative aims to boost India’s port infrastructure, leading to creation of world-class facilities.

- स्विट्जरलैंड स्थित टर्मिनल इन्वेस्टमेंट लिमिटेड (TIL) महाराष्ट्र के दहानू शहर के पास स्थित वाधवन बंदरगाह वाधवन पोर्ट और इसके पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को विकसित करने में 20,000 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश करने की योजना बना रही है।
- वाधवन पोर्ट प्रोजेक्ट लिमिटेड (VPPL), JNPA (74% हिस्सेदारी) और महाराष्ट्र मैरीटाइम बोर्ड (26%) का एक संयुक्त उद्यम है, जो 76,200 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजना की देखरेख करता है।
- इस पहल का उद्देश्य भारत के बंदरगाह के बुनियादी ढांचे को बढ़ावा देना है, जिससे विश्व स्तरीय सुविधा का निर्माण हो सके।
GST Council approves ‘Track and Trace Mechanism’ to curb evasion
The GST Council approved the implementation of ‘Track and Trace Mechanism’ for goods that are prone to tax evasion in order to prevent tax evasion.
A unique mark will be affixed on the goods/packages to trace them in the supply chain.
An enabling provision will be added in the CGST Act, 2017 through Section 148A, giving the government the power to implement this mechanism.

जीएसटी परिषद ने कर चोरी को रोकने के उद्देश्य से कर चोरी की सम्भावना वाली वस्तुओं के लिए ‘ट्रैक एंड ट्रेस मैकेनिज्म’ को लागू करने की स्वीकृति दी।
आपूर्ति श्रृंखला में माल/पैकेजों का पता लगाने के लिए उन पर एक विशिष्ट चिह्न लगाया जाएगा।
CGST अधिनियम, 2017 में धारा 148A के माध्यम से एक सक्षम प्रावधान जोड़ा जाएगा, जिससे सरकार को इस तंत्र को लागू करने का अधिकार मिलेगा।

- He was 51 years old and breathed his last at a hospital in Guwahati.
- National Award-winning filmmaker and his close friend Utpal Borpujari confirmed his demise.
- He was known for writing the screenplay of award-winning films such as Handuk, Sonar Baran Pakhi and Bokul Fulor Dore.

India-Nepal joint military exercise SURYA KIRAN held in Nepal
- Indian Army contingent comprising 334 personnel participated in the 18th edition of SURYA KIRAN exercise at Saljhandi, Nepal.
- Led by 11th Gorkha Rifles, the exercise focused on jungle warfare, counter-terrorism, disaster relief and operational preparedness.
- The Nepal Army is represented by the Shrijang Battalion, which promotes cooperation and coordination between the two armies.

- The Indian team won 33 medals at the 2024 Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships in Doha, Qatar.
- Young weightlifters (13-17 years) won 21 medals including all 7 gold, while junior weightlifters (15-20 years) won 12 medals.
- Medals were awarded in 40 events across the snatch, clean and jerk and overall categories.
- Payal (women’s 45kg) and Sanjana (women’s 76kg) won five medals each.
