Lok Sabha oath taking process
- This process begins when the Election Commission of India declares the election results.
- MPs must take oath to participate in the proceedings of the House.
- Stated in the Third Schedule of the Constitution of India.
- MPs can take the oath in English, Hindi or any of the 22 languages recognized by the Constitution.
- Jailed MPs may be allowed by courts to take oath in Parliament.
लोकसभा शपथ ग्रहण प्रक्रिया
- यह प्रक्रिया तब शुरू होती है, जब भारत का चुनाव आयोग चुनाव परिणाम घोषित करता है।
- सांसदों को सदन की कार्यवाही में भाग लेने के लिए शपथ लेनी चाहिए।
- भारत के संविधान की तीसरी अनुसूची में कहा गया है।
- सांसद अंग्रेजी, हिंदी या संविधान द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त 22 भाषाओं में से किसी में भी शपथ ले सकते हैं।
- जेल में बंद सांसदों को अदालतों द्वारा संसद में शपथ लेने की अनुमति दी जा सकती है।
Union Minister JP Nadda appointed new leader of the House in Rajya Sabha
- BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda was appointed the new leader of the House in Rajya Sabha in place of Piyush Goyal.
- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will remain the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
- The session of the 18th Lok Sabha began on June 24, with key leaders including Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh taking oath along with 280 new MPs.

- भाजपा अध्यक्ष जगत प्रकाश नड्डा को पीयूष गोयल की जगह राज्यसभा में सदन का नया नेता नियुक्त किया गया।
- कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे राज्यसभा में विपक्ष के नेता बने रहेंगे।
- 18वीं लोकसभा का सत्र 24 जून को शुरू हुआ, जिसमें प्रधानमंत्री मोदी, अमित शाह और राजनाथ सिंह समेत प्रमुख नेताओं ने 280 नए सांसदों के साथ शपथ ली।
India Olympic Research Center inaugurated
- India Olympic Research and Education Center was inaugurated at the National Defense University in Gandhinagar.
- The center will have valuable data and insights on Olympics, training methods, sports science and athlete development, which will enhance India’s sports infrastructure.

India wins 29 medals at 2024 BRICS Games held in Russia
- India won 29 medals including 3 gold at the 2024 BRICS Games held in Kazan, Russia from June 12 to 23.
- Russia led the medal tally with 507 medals, followed by Belarus (247) and China (62).
- India finished 8th by winning 3 gold, 6 silver and 20 bronze medals.
- Indian women’s table tennis team won the first medal for India.
- Indian boxers won two gold medals with Meenakshi and Anamika.

Somalia’s women media win Global Freedom of Expression Award
- Somalia’s only all-female news team, Bilan, won the 2024 One World Media Press Freedom Award for its courageous reporting.
- Founded by UNDP in 2021 and funded by the European Union, Bilan has published key stories on discrimination, violence and social issues in Somalia and promoted the role of women in a variety of sectors.
- Their reports confirm the resilience of Somali women journalists.

Madhya Pradesh will establish Prime Minister’s Excellence College in all the districts
- Madhya Pradesh government will inaugurate Pradhan Mantri Excellence Colleges in all 55 districts on July 1, which aims to promote education under the National Education Policy.
- Each college will include a ‘Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Kendra’ to promote traditional Indian knowledge and a ‘Vidyavan’ or educational garden to raise environmental awareness among students.
मध्य प्रदेश सभी जिलों में प्रधानमंत्री उत्कृष्टता महाविद्यालय स्थापित करेगा
- मध्य प्रदेश सरकार 1 जुलाई को सभी 55 जिलों में प्रधानमंत्री उत्कृष्टता महाविद्यालयों का उद्घाटन करेगी, जिसका उद्देश्य राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के तहत शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देना है।

Srinagar given the status of ‘World Craft City’
- Srinagar has become the fourth Indian city to be recognized as a ‘World Craft City’ by the World Craft Council (WCC), three years after it was recognized by the United Nations Center for Education, Science and Culture for crafts and folk arts. The organization was named part of the (UNESCO) Creative Cities Network (UCCN).
- Jaipur, Malappuram and Mysore are other Indian cities recognized as first world craft cities.
श्रीनगर को ‘वर्ल्ड क्राफ्ट सिटी’ का दर्जा दिया गया
- श्रीनगर विश्व शिल्प परिषद (WCC) द्वारा ‘वर्ल्ड क्राफ्ट सिटी (विश्व शिल्प शहर)’ के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त करने वाला चौथा भारतीय शहर बन गया है, तीन वर्ष पहले इसे शिल्प और लोक कलाओं के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र शिक्षा, विज्ञान और सांस्कृतिक संगठन (UNESCO) क्रिएटिव सिटी नेटवर्क (UCCN) का हिस्सा नामित किया गया था।

Two new plant species discovered in biogeographic hotspot of India
- Indian botanists have identified two new plant species, Dendroptho longensis in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Petrocosmia arunachalense in Arunachal Pradesh.
- Dendrophtho grows on mango trees and is important to the local ecosystem, but is threatened by habitat loss and human activities.
- Petrocosmia has white flowers and purple spots, it thrives in moisture, it needs to be protected.
भारत के जैव-भौगोलिक हॉटस्पॉट में दो नई पादप प्रजातियाँ खोजी गईं
- भारतीय वनस्पति विज्ञानियों ने अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में डेंड्रोफ्थो लॉन्गेंसिस और अरुणाचल प्रदेश में पेट्रोकोस्मिया अरुणाचलेंस नामक दो नई पौधों की प्रजातियों की पहचान की है।
- डेंड्रोफ्थो आम के पेड़ों पर पनपता है और स्थानीय पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है, लेकिन आवास के नुकसान और मानवीय गतिविधियों के कारण इसे ख़तरा है।
- पेट्रोकोस्मिया में सफ़ेद फूल और बैंगनी धब्बे होते हैं, यह नमी में पनपता है, इसे संरक्षित करने की ज़रूरत है।
