Odisha approves funding for forest conservation of 100 villages

SC proposes appointment of ad-hoc judges for pending cases
- The Supreme Court proposed temporary appointments of retired judges under Article 224A to reduce the backlog of pending criminal cases in the High Courts.
- Appointments require the consent of retired judges, the President of India and approval from the Collegium of the Supreme Court.
- Adhoc judges are appointed when vacancies exceed 20% and more than 10% of the cases are pending for 5+ years.

High-speed rail will connect Abu Dhabi and Dubai
- Etihad Rail announces a 350 km/h train linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai, reducing travel times to 30 minutes and increasing the UAE’s GDP by Dh145 billion over 50 years.
- The first four passenger stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah will be integrated with the metro and bus networks.
- The stations will feature premium amenities inspired by Emirati heritage, which will be developed in a phased manner.
