- Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Kuwait’s highest honour, the Order of Mubarak Al Kabir.
- The knighthood is given to heads of state and foreign royal families as a symbol of friendship; previously, Bill Clinton, George Bush and Prince Charles have been given this honour.
- This is the 20th international honour given to Prime Minister Modi.

Government launches ‘Udaan Yatri Cafe’ at airports
- Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched “Udaan Yatri Cafés” to provide affordable food and essentials at airports.
- Water, tea, coffee and snacks are being provided at Kolkata airport at a pilot initiative at reasonable rates.
- This initiative, managed by the Airports Authority of India, will be rolled out at other airports if successful.
सरकार ने हवाई अड्डों पर ‘उड़ान यात्री कैफे’ लॉन्च किया
- नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय ने हवाई अड्डों पर किफ़ायती भोजन और ज़रूरी सामान उपलब्ध कराने के लिए “उड़ान यात्री कैफ़े” की शुरुआत की है।
- कोलकाता हवाई अड्डे पर पायलट पहल के तहत उचित दरों पर पानी, चाय, कॉफ़ी और नाश्ता उपलब्ध कराया जा रहा है।
- भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण द्वारा प्रबंधित इस पहल को सफल होने पर अन्य हवाई अड्डों पर भी शुरू किया जाएगा।

- Jago Grahak Jago App and Jagriti App will be launched to assist CCPA in addressing dark patterns and online consumer safety.
- Jago Grahak Jago app alerts users about potentially unsafe URLs during e-commerce activities.
- Jagruti App enables users to report suspicious URLs, which are then sent to the CCPA for action.
सरकार राष्ट्रीय उपभोक्ता दिवस पर उपभोक्ता संरक्षण ऐप लॉन्च करेगी।
- CCPA को डार्क पैटर्न और ऑनलाइन उपभोक्ता सुरक्षा से निपटने में सहायता करने के लिए जागो ग्राहक जागो ऐप और जागृति ऐप लॉन्च किए जाएंगे।
- जागो ग्राहक जागो ऐप ई-कॉमर्स गतिविधियों के दौरान संभावित रूप से असुरक्षित URL के बारे में उपयोगकर्ताओं को सचेत करता है।

India will host the ISSF Junior Shooting World Cup in 2025.
- India will host the ISSF Junior World Cup for Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun in late 2025, with the hosting rights assigned to the National Rifle Association of India.
- This will be India’s first Junior World Cup and the 9th major ISSF event to be held in the last decade.
- Earlier, India had hosted the continental championships and six ISSF competitions, including four senior ISSF World Cups besides two World Cup Final competitions.

India’s forest area expanded to 1,445 square kilometres in ISFR 2023.
- According to India State of Forest Report 2023, forest and tree cover is 8.27 lakh sq km, which is 25.17% of the geographical area of India.
- Forest cover increased by 156 square kilometres and tree cover by 1,289 square kilometres, giving a total increase of 1,445 square kilometres since 2021.
- This report is published biennially by the Forest Survey of India based on satellite data and field-based surveys.
ISFR 2023 में भारत का वन क्षेत्र 1,445 वर्ग किलोमीटर में विस्तार हुई।
- भारत वन स्थिति रिपोर्ट 2023 के अनुसार वन एवं वृक्ष आवरण 8.27 लाख वर्ग किमी है, जो भारत के भौगोलिक क्षेत्र का 25.17% है।
- वन आवरण में 156 वर्ग किलोमीटर और वृक्ष आवरण में 1,289 वर्ग किलोमीटर की वृद्धि हुई, जो 2021 से अब तक कुल 1,445 वर्ग किलोमीटर की वृद्धि है।
- यह रिपोर्ट, भारतीय वन सर्वेक्षण द्वारा उपग्रह डेटा और क्षेत्र-आधारित सर्वेक्षणों के आधार पर द्विवार्षिक रूप से प्रकाशित की जाती है।
India’s first bio-bitumen highway was inaugurated.
- Union Transport Minister inaugurated India’s first Bio-Bitumen Highway on Nagpur-Mansar Bypass (NH-44) using lignin produced from crop residues.
- This road is 40% stronger than conventional asphalt, using 15% bio-bitumen, providing environmentally friendly and cost-effective construction.
- This road has been constructed in joint collaboration of Central Road Research Institute and biotech firm Praj Industries.
भारत का पहला बायो-बिटुमेन राजमार्ग का उद्घाटन किया गया।
- केंद्रीय परिवहन मंत्री ने फसल अवशेषों से निर्मित लिग्निन का इस्तेमाल करते हुए नागपुर-मानसर बाईपास (NH-44) पर भारत के पहले बायो-बिटुमेन राजमार्ग का उद्घाटन किया।
- यह सड़क पारंपरिक डामर से 40% अधिक मजबूत है, इसमें 15% बायो-बिटुमेन का उपयोग किया गया है, जो पर्यावरण के अनुकूल और लागत प्रभावी निर्माण प्रदान करता है।
- इस सड़क का निर्माण केंद्रीय सड़क अनुसंधान संस्थान और बायोटेक फर्म प्राज इंडस्ट्रीज के संयुक्त सहयोग से किया गया है।

- Iceland’s youngest prime minister, Kristun Frostadottir, leads a three-party coalition: the Social Democratic Alliance (SDA), the Liberal Reform Party (LRP) and the People’s Party (PP).
- The Cabinet’s priorities include economic stabilization, interest rate reduction and public finance control.
- The SDA, the biggest winner in the November 30 election, has 4 ministerial posts; the LRP also has 4 and the PP has 3.

Justice Madan Lokur appointed Chairman of UN, IJC.
- Former Supreme Court Judge Madan B Lokur was appointed Chairperson of the United Nations Internal Justice Council (IJC) for a 4-year term ending on November 12, 2028.
- The IJC ensures independence, professionalism and accountability in the UN justice system.
- Justice Madan Lokur retired from the Supreme Court on December 31, 2018 after serving for 6 years.
न्यायमूर्ति मदन लोकुर को UN, IJC का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया।

- Joao Fonseca of Brazil defeated Lerner Tien of the United States 2-4, 4-3, 4-0, 4-2 to win the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
- At age 18, Fonseca became the youngest winner in the tournament’s history and the first Brazilian to win the title.
- Fonseca is also the lowest-ranked player to win the title, ranked No. 145 in the world.

Anahat Singh won the 9th PSA Challenger title in 2024.
- 16-year-old Indian squash player Anahat Singh won her 9th PSA Challenger title by winning the Western India Slam 2024 women’s singles in Mumbai.
- Second seed Anahat Singh defeated Akanksha Salunkhe 3-0 in the final with a score of 11-8, 11-8, 11-8.
- More than 700 players from 12 countries participated in the Western India Slam.
- Amnishanraj Chandran emerged as the champion in the men’s category.

Koyel and Neelam won silver medal in Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championship.
- Koyel Bar and L. Neelam Devi won silver medals in the 55kg youth and junior categories at the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships in Doha, Qatar.
- Koel lifted 79 kg in snatch and 103 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 182 kg to win the silver medal in the youth category.
- Neelam lifted 86 kg in snatch and 104 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 190 kg to win the silver medal in the junior category.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Kuwait Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah and discussed cooperation in pharmaceuticals, IT, fintech, infrastructure and security.
- The two leaders elevated their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership and focused on enhancing and deepening cooperation in various fields.
भारत-कुवैत ने रक्षा और प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में द्विपक्षीय समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
