Structure of Sahitya Akademi
- Chairman & Financial Advisor
- Five persons nominated by the Government of India, including representatives from the National Book Trust, Department of Culture and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- Will include one representative (nominated by the outgoing Council) from each State and Union Territory.
साहित्य अकादमी की संरचना
- अध्यक्ष एवं वित्तीय सलाहकार
- भारत सरकार द्वारा नामित पाँच व्यक्ति, जिनमें राष्ट्रीय पुस्तक न्यास, संस्कृति विभाग और सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय के प्रतिनिधि शामिल होंगे।
- प्रत्येक राज्य और केंद्र शासित प्रदेश से एक प्रतिनिधि (निवर्तमान परिषद द्वारा नामित) शामिल होंगे।
Structure of Sahitya Akademi
- There is one representative for each language supported by the Academy.
- There are representatives from 20 universities with postgraduate departments in humanities.
- Eight persons are included from the field of literature.
- Representatives from various cultural bodies such as:
- Sangeet Natak Academy representative
- Lalit Kala Academy Representative
- Indian Council for Cultural Relations representative
- Raja Rammohan Roy Library Representative
साहित्य अकादमी की संरचना
- अकादमी द्वारा समर्थित प्रत्येक भाषा के लिए एक प्रतिनिधि शामिल होते है।
- मानविकी में स्नातकोत्तर विभागों वाले 20 विश्वविद्यालयों के प्रतिनिधि होते है।
- साहित्य के क्षेत्र से आठ व्यक्ति शामिल होते है।

Historical background and structure of the Sahitya Akademi
- Origin: The idea of a national literary academy in India was first considered by the British colonial government.
- In the year 1944, the proposal of the ‘National Cultural Trust’ of the Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal was accepted.
- Later, the independent Indian Government constituted the Sahitya Akademi through a resolution on 15 December 1952.

- मूल उत्पत्तिः भारत में राष्ट्रीय साहित्य अकादमी के विचार पर सबसे पहले ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक सरकार ने विचार किया था।
- वर्ष 1944 में, बंगाल की रॉयल एशियाटिक सोसाइटी के ‘राष्ट्रीय सांस्कृतिक ट्रस्ट’ के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार कर लिया गया।
- पश्चात् स्वतंत्र भारत सरकार ने 15 दिसंबर 1952 को एक प्रस्ताव के माध्यम से साहित्य अकादमी का गठन किया।
Historical background and structure of the Sahitya Akademi
- Inauguration: The Sahitya Akademi was formally inaugurated on 12 March 1954 in New Delhi.
- The ceremony was held in the Central Hall of Parliament, in which Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan delivered speeches.
- Radhakrishnan stressed the objective of the Academy to promote creative and critical literature.

- उद्घाटनः साहित्य अकादमी का औपचारिक उद्घाटन 12 मार्च 1954 को नई दिल्ली में हुआ।
- यह समारोह संसद के सेंट्रल हॉल में आयोजित किया गया था, जिसमें मौलाना अबुल कलाम आज़ाद और सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन ने भाषण दिए।
- राधाकृष्णन ने रचनात्मक और आलोचनात्मक साहित्य को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अकादमी के उद्देश्य पर बल दिया।

- The Sahitya Akademi recognises literary works in 24 languages, which are part of the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, along with English and Rajasthani.
- Languages: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English,
- Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

- The awards will be presented on March 8, 2025 and each winner will receive a plaque, a shawl and Rs 1 lakh.
- Awards for Bengali, Dogri and Urdu will be announced later.
- The awards were announced by the President of the Sahitya Akademi and authorised by the Academy’s executive board, Madhav Kaushik.

- पुरस्कार 8 मार्च, 2025 को प्रदान किए जाएंगे और प्रत्येक विजेता को एक पट्टिका, एक शॉल और 1 लाख रुपये मिलेंगे।
- बंगाली, डोगरी और उर्दू के पुरस्कारों की घोषणा बाद में की जाएगी।
- पुरस्कारों की घोषणा साहित्य अकादमी के अध्यक्ष द्वारा की गई और अकादमी के कार्यकारी माधव कौशिक बोर्ड द्वारा अधिकृत किया गया।
