Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies 2024
- This is the fourth edition of Time’s annual list of the world’s most influential companies.
- Three Indian companies namely Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Tata Group and Serum Institute of India (SII) have been included in the ‘TIME100 Most Influential Companies 2024’.
- RIL and Tata Group have been included under the ‘Titans’ category and SII under the ‘Pioneers’ category.

- यह टाइम की वार्षिक सूची का चौथा संस्करण है जिसमें विश्व की सबसे प्रभावशाली कंपनियों को शामिल किया गया है।
- तीन भारतीय कंपनियों अर्थात् रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (RIL), टाटा समूह और सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया (SII) को ‘TIME100 मोस्ट इन्फ्लुएंशियल कंपनीज 2024’ में शामिल किया गया है।
- RIL और टाटा समूह को ‘टाइटन्स’ श्रेणी के अंतर्गत और SII को ‘पायनियर’ श्रेणी के अंतर्गत शामिल किया गया है।
NIMHANS receives Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion for 2024
- National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, has been awarded the Nelson Mandela Prize for Health Promotion for 2024 by the World Health Organization (WHO).
- This award is a testament to NIMHANS’s dedication and outstanding contribution in promoting mental health and well-being.

Sikkim HC becomes first HC in India to impose menstrual leave for women
- Sikkim High Court Registry has launched menstrual leave policy for women employees.
- From now on, women employees working in the High Court Registry will be able to take menstrual leave of 2-3 days in a month.
- Sikkim High Court, the smallest high court in India, has a registry staff of nine officers, including three judges and one woman officer.

- भारत के सबसे छोटे उच्च न्यायालय, सिक्किम उच्च न्यायालय में तीन न्यायाधीश और एक महिला अधिकारी सहित नौ अधिकारियों का रजिस्ट्री स्टाफ है।

- Colombia’s lechona, Puerto Rico’s pernil and Mexico’s pringas top the list of the world’s ’50 best pork dishes’.

GMO mosquitoes released in Djibouti to fight malaria
- Genetically modified (GMO) mosquitoes have been released in Djibouti to prevent the spread of malaria.
- This is the first time that such mosquitoes have been released in East Africa.
- Similar technology has been used successfully in Brazil, Cayman Islands, Panama and India.
- Male Anopheles stephensi mosquitoes developed by Oxitec contain a gene that kills female offspring before they reach maturity.

- इसी तरह की तकनीक का सफलतापूर्वक ब्राजील, केमैन द्वीप, पनामा और भारत में उपयोग किया गया है।
- ऑक्सिटेक द्वारा विकसित नर एनोफिलीज स्टेफेंसी मच्छरों में एक ऐसा जीन होता है, जो मादा संतानों को परिपक्व होने से पहले ही मार देता है।

- Major General Harsh Chhibber took over as Commandant of the College of Defense Management, Secunderabad from Rear Admiral Sanjay Dutt on 31 May 24.
- Major General Harsh Chhibber, an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, was commissioned into the Army Service Corps in December 1988.
- He has been Brigadier General Staff (Information) in the Eastern Sector and Major General (Operational) in the Northern Sector.

- राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी के पूर्व छात्र मेजर जनरल हर्ष छिब्बर को दिसंबर 1988 में सेना सेवा कोर में कमीशन किया गया था।
- वे पूर्वी क्षेत्र में ब्रिगेडियर जनरल स्टाफ (सूचना) और उत्तरी क्षेत्र में मेजर जनरल (ऑपरेशनल) रह चुके हैं।
Researcher has discovered technology that can charge a phone in one minute
- Indian-origin researcher Ankur Gupta has unveiled a new technology that can charge an electric vehicle in just 10 minutes and a laptop or phone in a minute.
- Ankur Gupta is an assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, USA.
- This research has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal.
