PM Modi: The first Vande Bharat Express will run from Katra to Kashmir on April 19
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat Express from Katra to Kashmir on April 19, marking the completion of the 272-km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link.
- He will visit and inaugurate the world’s highest railway bridge.
- The service will initially run from Katra as Jammu station is being renovated.

- प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 19 अप्रैल को कटरा से कश्मीर के लिए पहली वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस को हरी झंडी दिखाएंगे, जो 272 किलोमीटर लंबे उधमपुर-श्रीनगर-बारामुल्ला रेल लिंक के पूरा होने का प्रतीक है।
- वह विश्व के सबसे ऊंचे रेलवे पुल का दौरा करेंगे और उसका उद्घाटन करेंगे।
- सेवा शुरू में कटरा से चलेगी क्योंकि जम्मू स्टेशन का नवीनीकरण किया जा रहा है।
Narendra Berwal to lead India at World Boxing Cup in Brazil
- Asian Games bronze medallist Narender Berwal will lead the 10-member Indian men’s boxing team at the first World Boxing Cup to be held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.
- The tournament is the first event organised by World Boxing after receiving provisional recognition from the International Olympic Committee in February and the inclusion of boxing in the 2028 LA Olympics.
ब्राजील में विश्व मुक्केबाजी कप में भारत की अगुवाई करेंगे नरेंद्र बेरवाल
- एशियाई खेलों के कांस्य पदक विजेता नरेंद्र बेरवाल ब्राजील के फोज डू इगुआकु में होने वाले पहले विश्व मुक्केबाजी कप में 10 सदस्यीय भारतीय पुरुष मुक्केबाजी टीम का नेतृत्व करेंगे।
- यह टूर्नामेंट फरवरी में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति से अनंतिम मान्यता प्राप्त करने और 2028 एलए ओलंपिक में मुक्केबाजी को शामिल करने के बाद विश्व मुक्केबाजी द्वारा आयोजित पहला आयोजन है।
Centre appoints Nidhi Tiwari as personal secretary to PM Modi
- Nidhi Tiwari has been appointed as the Personal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Tiwari has been serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since November 2022.
- She is a resident of Mahmoorganj, Varanasi.
- Till now the Prime Minister has had two personal secretaries – Vivek Kumar and Hardik Satishchandra Shah.

Telangana Government launches free rice scheme for the first time
- Telangana Government has launched a scheme to provide premium rice to the poor free of cost through ration shops.
- Unveiling the initiative at a public function at Huzurnagar in Suryapet district on the occasion of Ugadi, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stressed that the unprecedented programme, which is India’s first such initiative to distribute premium rice free of cost, ensures food security with dignity.

- तेलंगाना सरकार ने राशन की दुकानों के माध्यम से गरीबों को मुफ्त में बढ़िया चावल उपलब्ध कराने की योजना शुरू की है।
- उगादि के अवसर पर सूर्यपेट जिले के हुजूरनगर में एक सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रम में इस पहल का अनावरण करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ए. रेवंत रेड्डी ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि यह अभूतपूर्व कार्यक्रम सम्मान के साथ खाद्य सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करता है, जो निःशुल्क में बढ़िया चावल वितरित करने का भारत का पहला ऐसा प्रयास है।
Gaia mission ends after mapping 2 billion stars
- The European Space Agency’s Gaia mission ends after 12 years on January 15, 2025, due to the depletion of cold gas propellant.
- Gaia created the most detailed 3D map of the galaxy, revealing colliding galaxies, star clusters and black holes.
- Launch date: December 2013
- Operational orbit: Gaia operates around the Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point, about 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.

UNESCO publishes ‘Education and Nutrition: Learn to Eat Well’ report
- UNESCO’s 2025 report highlights that while 47% of primary school students receive meals at school, many of them do not receive proper nutrition.
- Only 27% of school meals will have nutritionists involved in 2022; only 93 of 187 countries have legislation in place.
- The report was published on the occasion of ‘Nutrition for Growth’ organised by France on 27 and 28 March.
- Report warns of rising obesity and food insecurity among children.

- UNESCO की 2025 की रिपोर्ट में इस बात पर जोर दिया गया है कि प्राथमिक विद्यालय के 47% विद्यार्थियों को स्कूल में भोजन तो मिलता है, लेकिन उनमें से कई को उचित पोषण नहीं मिलता।
- 2022 में केवल 27% स्कूली भोजन में पोषण विशेषज्ञों की भागीदारी होगी; 187 देशों में से केवल 93 देशों में ही इस संबंध में कानून मौजूद हैं।
- 27 और 28 मार्च को फ्रांस द्वारा आयोजित ‘नुट्रिशन फॉर ग्रोथ’ के अवसर पर यह रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित की गई।
- रिपोर्ट में बच्चों में बढ़ते मोटापे और खाद्य असुरक्षा की चेतावनी दी गई है।

India, Japan sign ¥191.73 billion loan agreement for 6 projects Did
- India and Japan signed loan agreements worth 191.73 billion yen for six development projects involving water, transport, forestry and aquaculture.
- Major projects include TN Investment Promotion Phase 3, Delhi Metro Phase 4 and Chennai Desalination Plant II.
- This financing falls under Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) to India.
