- ESA’s Euclid mission has discovered a rare Einstein ring near the galaxy NGC 6505 (590 M LY away).
- A ring created by light from a distant galaxy located 4.42B LY away through gravitational lensing.
- Discovered during testing phase in September 2023; highlights Euclid’s power to study dark matter and energy.

Income Tax Bill, 2025
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Income Tax Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha on February 13, 2025.
- The new bill will replace the existing Income Tax Act of 1961 and will come into effect from April 1, 2026.
- The new Income Tax Bill comes after a review of the existing Income Tax Act which was announced in July 2024.

- वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने 13 फरवरी, 2025 को लोकसभा में आयकर विधेयक 2025 पेश किया।
- नया विधेयक 1961 के मौजूदा आयकर अधिनियम की जगह लेगा और 1 अप्रैल, 2026 से प्रभावी होगा।
- नया आयकर विधेयक मौजूदा आयकर अधिनियम की समीक्षा के बाद आया है जिसकी घोषणा जुलाई 2024 में की गई थी।
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner suspended for 3 months
- World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner has accepted a three-month suspension after reaching a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) over two positive doping tests.
- Sinner will serve his suspension period from February 9 to May 4.
- The International Tennis Integrity Agency initially cleared him, but WADA appealed for a one-year ban.

- सिनर 9 फरवरी से 4 मई तक निलंबन की अवधि पूरी करेंगे।
- अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टेनिस इंटीग्रिटी एजेंसी ने शुरू में उन्हें बरी कर दिया था, लेकिन वाडा ने एक साल के प्रतिबंध की अपील की।

- He became the first person to complete the race in less than 57 minutes.
- Kiplimo finished the race in 56 minutes, 42 seconds in Barcelona.
- 24-year-old Kiplimo sets record in World Athletics Gold Label race.
- He broke the old record of 57:30 set by Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia.
- Kiplimo beats the record by 48 seconds, the biggest improvement to date.

India-Japan Joint Military Exercise ‘Dharma Guardian’ 2025
- The sixth edition of the Dharma Guardian exercise will be held from February 25 to March 9 at Mount Fuji in Japan, focusing on urban warfare and counter-terrorism operations.
- Earlier on February 11, special forces of India and Egypt started the ‘Cyclone III’ exercise at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.
- This exercise is inspired by the visit of the Army Chief to Japan in October 2024.

- धर्म गार्जियन अभ्यास का छठा संस्करण 25 फरवरी से 9 मार्च तक जापान के माउंट फूजी में आयोजित किया जाएगा, जिसमें शहरी युद्ध और आतंकवाद-रोधी अभियानों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाएगा।
- इससे पहले 11 फरवरी को भारत और मिस्र के विशेष बलों ने राजस्थान के महाजन फील्ड फायरिंग रेंज में ‘साइक्लोन III’ अभ्यास शुरू किया था।
- यह अभ्यास अक्टूबर 2024 में सेना प्रमुख की जापान यात्रा से प्रेरित है।

Veteran Telugu actor and producer C. Krishnaveni passed away at the age of 102 due to age-related issues.
- She debuted with Kaccha Devayani (1938), acted in over 40 films and introduced N. T. Rama Rao in Mana Desam.
- Awarded the Raghupati Venkaiah Award (2004), he produced several films including Bhishma and Daksha Yagnam.

Assam government, AASU agree on 38 points of Assam Accord report
- Assam Government and AASU agreed on 38 key recommendations of the Biplab Sharma Committee report.
- Measures include land rights for indigenous people, language reform and promotion of cultural heritage.
- Initiatives include compulsory Assamese in schools, Rs 100 crore for Sankardev Kalakshetra and 2,000 new posts for land administration.

Assam approves Industrial Park and Green Energy Policy 2025

- It also approved the Assam Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2025 to promote solar, wind, hydropower and hydrogen energy projects.
- These initiatives aim to promote industrial development and support the state’s transition to sustainable energy solutions.

- असम कैबिनेट ने मोरीगांव जिले में 569 बीघा जमीन पर एक मेगा औद्योगिक पार्क को मंजूरी दे दी है।
