- NATO is launching a new mission to protect undersea cables in the Baltic Sea region.

- Announcing the new campaign, Rutte said more than 95% of internet traffic is secured via undersea cables and that 1.3 million kilometres (808,000 miles) of cables guarantee an estimated $10 trillion worth of financial transactions every day.

- INS Utkarsh was launched from L&T’s Kattupalli shipyard, three months after INS Prashak was launched.
- The MPVs will perform roles such as maritime surveillance, weapon development testing and combating marine pollution.
- L&T’s Chennai Design Centre and Kattupalli yard also handles cadet ships, naval repairs and six other defence ships.

PM Modi to attend AI summit in France in February

New species of pangolin discovered in Arunachal Pradesh
- Scientists of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have discovered a new species of pangolin in Arunachal Pradesh, naming it Indo-Burmese pangolin (Manis indoburmanica).
- This species is genetically different from the Chinese and Indian pangolins found in India.

- भारतीय प्राणी सर्वेक्षण (ZSI) के वैज्ञानिकों ने अरुणाचल प्रदेश में पैंगोलिन की एक नई प्रजाति की खोज की है, जिसका नाम इंडो-बर्मीज़ पैंगोलिन (मैनिस इंडोबर्मानिका) है।
- यह प्रजाति भारत में पाए जाने वाले चीनी और भारतीय पैंगोलिन से आनुवंशिक रूप से अलग है।
