- Prime Minister Modi will visit Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir on January 13 to inaugurate the Sonamarg Tunnel.
- 12 km long tunnel constructed at a cost of over Rs 2,700 crore
- It bypasses landslide-prone areas, promotes winter tourism and adventure sports in Sonamarg.
- Along with the Zojila Tunnel, it will enhance NH-1 connectivity, reduce travel time and boost defence logistics.

- The aim of this mission is to repair the damaged thermal shield of the NICER X-ray telescope, which has been damaged by sunlight.
